Our story

It all started
in the kitchen

After nineteen years as Executive Chef at a large London caterer, Simon Goggin wanted the ingredients back. Not a bigger operation. Better control of what went on the plate, and the freedom to buy from people he trusted.

He had spent long enough inside a supply chain where gross profit came before taste. In 1998 he started Cooks & Partners to do it the other way round. The team today still includes the key players who joined him at the beginning.

Growth has been steady and deliberate. Some of our client relationships are now measured in decades.

Bespoke events

We create beautiful
events wherever
there is space

Menus and drink concepts sit at the centre of everything we do. Unique venues, offices, private houses, or a temporary build in an empty space. We bring what is needed.

  • Drinks receptions and product launches
  • Gala dinners and conferences
  • Board meetings and private dinners
  • Linen, furniture, crockery, glassware, the lot

The food

Seasonal, artisan,
and traceable

We buy from small suppliers who share our values. Our butchers source almost exclusively UK-reared meat with a clear animal welfare policy, and our suppliers are EFSIS accredited.

Our chefs have collaborated with Lee Westcott of the Typing Room, Robin Gill of The Dairy and Counter Culture, and Merlin Labron-Johnson of The Portland. Writing a menu, as we see it, is like telling a story.

  • Small suppliers, long relationships

Wedding days

There is no request
too big or too small

We have been working with couples for over twenty years. Menus that range from pretty canapes to elegant fine dining, and a styling service that covers every element your guests will see.

Common questions

Before you enquire

How much does event catering in London cost?+
Every event is priced to its brief, so there is no menu price list. Cost is driven by guest numbers, service style, the venue, and whether we are supplying furniture, linen and glassware alongside the food. Tell us the shape of the event and we will come back with a costed proposal. Menu consultations are complimentary.
Which London venues do you cater at?+
We are listed at thirty-two venues across London and Hertfordshire, several of them Grade I listed. They include 24/25 The Shard, Abbey Road Studios, Lancaster House, Kenwood House, Eltham Palace, Leighton House, Mail Rail at The Postal Museum, the National Army Museum, Harrow School and the Mall Galleries. We also build temporary events in private houses, offices and empty spaces.
Do you cater weddings, and how far ahead should we book?+
Yes. We have been working with couples for over twenty years, across canapes, bowl food, sharing platters, fusion menus and fine dining, plus full table styling. Peak Saturdays in summer go early, so the sooner you talk to us the better. If your venue is not booked yet we can point you at the ones we know well.
Where do you source your ingredients?+
Seasonal and artisan produce from small suppliers who share our values. Our butchers source almost exclusively UK-reared meat with a clear animal welfare policy, and our suppliers are EFSIS accredited. Simon started the business in 1998 specifically to get that control back.
Do you deliver catering to offices and boardrooms?+
Yes. Breakfast meetings, working lunches, finger buffets, grazing platters, afternoon teas and fork buffets. It started as a service for our regular clients and is now open to new ones. We can bring kitchen equipment with us where a site needs it.
Can you run a cafe or contract catering site for us?+
We already run four: Cooks Kitchen at Wimbledon Park, Cafe North Lodge at Brompton Cemetery, the Courtroom Cafe and The Postal Museum Cafe. If you have a visitor site, civic building or workplace that needs an operator across London and the home counties, we would like to see it.
How do we get a quote?+
Use the enquiry form below, call 020 7731 5282 or email enquiries@cooksandpartners.co.uk. The form takes about a minute and covers occasion, guest numbers, food style, date and venue, so whoever calls you back already understands the job.
